What is included in the Birding Beyond package?
The Birding Beyond package includes coordinated birding activities at every port of call, advance planning with local guides, and hosting, planning, and execution across the full cruise itinerary. Cruise fares are booked separately through our travel advisor, Cruise.com. Because we book group rates that include additional onboard benefits, we handle the cruise booking on your behalf to ensure you receive the full group amenities.
What if I have a casino offer with the cruise line? Can I still book the Birding Beyond package?
Yes. If you have a casino offer, please let us know so we can discuss how to add you to our group booking. Guests using casino offers are still welcome to participate and will need to purchase the Birding Beyond package separately.
What if my spouse, partner, or travel companion does not want to participate in birding?
Non-participating spouses, partners, or companions do not need to purchase the Birding Beyond package. They will still receive group benefits when booking cruises with us, as we offer group rates that include additional onboard amenities. We handle the cruise booking on your behalf to ensure everyone in your party receives the full group benefits.
Do I need prior birding experience to join a Birding Beyond cruise?
No. Birding Beyond cruises are open to all experience levels, from dedicated birders to travelers who enjoy nature and wildlife. Local guides tailor each excursion to the group.
Are bird sightings guaranteed?
No. Bird sightings depend on weather, season, and natural conditions. While specific species cannot be guaranteed, excursions are designed to visit habitats where birdlife is commonly found.
How physically demanding are the shore excursions?
Excursions may involve walking up to 3 miles, navigating uneven terrain, stepping into vans or small boats, and operating in warm or humid conditions. Guests should be comfortable standing for several hours. Details are shared in advance.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Birding package fees are refundable only if the space can be resold. Shore excursion fees are refundable if canceled 30 days or more prior to sailing. This helps ensure commitments to local guides and partners are honored.
Can Birding Beyond help with hotels before or after the cruise?
Yes. We can assist with booking pre- or post-cruise accommodations for guests who would like to extend their trip and continue exploring birding destinations beyond the cruise itinerary.
How does Birding Beyond handle schedule changes or delays?
All Birding Beyond excursions are planned around the ship’s schedule, and guest safety and timely return to the ship are always the priority. If port times, weather, or other conditions change, we work with local guides to adjust plans when possible. In the unlikely event of a delay caused by a Birding Beyond–organized excursion, we take responsibility for assisting guests in rejoining the ship at the next port of call.
